Derren Brown: Secret, a show of mixed magic and mind reading, will debut on Broadway this fall following a sold-out run at the Atlantic Theater Company.
Brown, the UK Netflix and YouTube star, performs concerts showing his expertise in mind reading, persuasion, and psychological illusion. His show, Secret, is described as a “spellbinding experience” which makes audiences “take a closer look at the stories and beliefs that guide our lives,” a press release notes.
“Well, who wouldn’t?” Brown told The New York Times when asked why he wanted to bring the show to Broadway. “What an amazing chance.”
The production originally premiered in 2017, where Brown played to sold-out crowds at the Atlantic Theater Company. He was awarded the 2018 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience, as well as two Olivier Awards for the highly-acclaimed sold-out runs in the West End.
Andrew O’Connor and Andy Nyman will direct the show with writing by Nyman, O’Connor, and Brown.
Previews will begin at the Cort Theater on September 6 and will open on September 15. The show will run for a strictly limited time – four months -through January 4, 2020. Tickets will be available to the public on June 28.
