The metalheads of Deftones are bringing their Dia De Los Deftones festival to San Diego for the second year in a row with an eclectic lineup.
The “celebration of music and culture” will take place this fall on November 2 at Petco Park. There will be feature performances from Deftones, as well as the syth-pop group Chvrches, rapper JPEGMAFIA, the metal group Gojira, alt-rock band Hum, EDM duo Youth Code, and dance group Brutus.
This year, Deftones wanted to continue to give fans a diverse lineup to interest all different types of music fans; during their inaugural festival, they booked artists like rapper Future, rocker Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, and R&B artist Doja Cat.
“In our second year of our festival, the exciting challenge for us is to make sure we once again give the fans a wonderful day of music that reflects the diversity of our own tastes,” lead singer and guitarist Chino Moreno said in a press statement. “Each artist fits a different vertical of the music that we all love. There is truly something for everyone.”
Deftones have not released new music since 2016’s Gore, their eighth studio record. The band is best-known for tracks off of 1997’s Around The Fur like “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” and “My Own Summer (Shove It),” as well as 2000’s “Digital Bath” and “Passenger’ from White Pony. This year, Deftones can also be found at Daydream Festival 2019 in Pasadena and Exit 111 in Tennessee. Grab tickets to see Deftones on tour this year via Ticket Club.
