Over the weekend, parts of Manhattan, which is usually lit-up by florescent lights, went black due to a massive power outage. New Yorkers had to fend for themselves – some taking on the role of traffic workers or using flashlights to see on the streets – and event-goers were left in dim theaters.

During Jennifer Lopez’ show at Madison Square Garden, which is a part of her ongoing It’s My Party: The Celebration Tour, she only sang four songs before the lights went out.

Thousands of fans were evacuated from the venue, and Lopez took to Twitter to express her apologies and frustration.

“I am devastated and heartbroken right now,” she said in a video. “I just don’t even know what to say. I just want you guys to know that you’re going to get your money’s worth – that we are going to come back and do an amazing show for you. I am so sorry that this happened.”

She praised the event staff and noted that “the building handled it really well,” providing a safe way to clear the venue, noting that this was “beyond all of our control.” Now that the power is back on, Lopez is set to take the stage again tonight. In a tweet, she told fans that it’s “gonna take more than a city-wide blackout to shut us down” and promised “the most amazing celebration.”

Tickets from Saturday night will be honored tonight at MSG at 8 p.m.
