Los Angeles’ Staples Center is celebrating its 20-year-anniversary and there’s no better way to commemorate the legendary venue than with a concert featuring A-list artists.

The venue announced this week that country star Kane Brown will headline an event on October 18.

“Staples Center is an incredibly diverse and iconic venue and it is an honor to headline and be a part of their 20th anniversary kick off celebration,” Brown said in a release. “From the Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Sparks, to all the artists that have graced the stage there, they bring the best in entertainment to Los Angeles and I cannot wait to celebrate the last 20 years and kick-off the next 20.”

The Staples Center first opened back in 1999 with a performance from Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. It has since acted as a host to artists like U2, Garth Brooks, Bob Dylan, Cher, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Ed Sheeran, and Lady Gaga. Additionally, the venue has seen the Lakers and Sparks championships, the Kings Stanley Cup, and the 2012 MTV VMA Awards.

“We are thrilled to have Kane Brown headline Staples Center as part of our 20th anniversary celebration,” president of Staples Center, Microsoft Theater and L.A. Live Lee Zeidmanin said in a release. “It is pretty remarkable to think that Kane was just shy of turning six years old when we opened our doors in 1999 and now he will be a huge part of us ushering in the next generation of extraordinary talent to headline our arena.”

Following the 20th anniversary concert, the Staples Center is set to host various events dedicated to highlighting the special events that have taken place at the venue throughout the past two decades.

Brown, who has soared to the top charts with his 2018 record Experiment, is currently on the Ride All Night Tour with Jason Aldean throughout the summer. Last month, he was featured on the single “One Thing Right” with DJ Marshmello. Supporting acts for the Staples Center show have not been revealed at this time. Tickets go on sale July 26.
