The global ticketing platform See Tickets just announced its acquisition of the Switzerland-based Starticket.

Starticket sells over 5 million tickets annually to live events like concerts, festivals, musicals, and sporting events through starticket.ch and its mobile app, as well as pre-hiring booths. It is a part of the TX Group, which is a network of digital platforms across the country. With the acquisition, See Tickets will sell close to 30 million tickets annually, which serves around 10,000 show and event promoters across nine European countries and the United States. Now, they’ll have the chance to expand across the European market even more, as they already have a start in the French and German operations.

See Tickets’ Global CEO Rob Wilmshurst said in a press release that he is delighted to add Starticket to its team, noting that “we long admired Starticket as a stand out independent ticketing company in Switzerland” and together, the team will be able to “further develop the quality and range of services to our clients and customers in the country.” Already, See Tickets operates in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

“With this acquisition by See Tickets, Starticket will become part of a leading international ticketing service provider that uses cutting-edge technology and has a huge network with numerous partnerships,” Samuel Hugely, the Head of Technology & Ventures at the TX Group, said in the release. “This will strengthen Starticket in international competition and allow See Tickets to benefit from Starticket’s many years of experience in the Swiss market.”
