The Celtic-rock group Dropkick Murphys are teaming up with the punk-rockers of Rancid for a co-headlining tour this year.

The “Boston to Berkeley II Tour” will kick-off this May in Richmond, Virginia, followed by gigs in Houston, Dallas, Grand Rapids, and Laval. They’ll appear at venues along the way like Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium, Corpus Christi’s Concrete Street Amphitheater, Pier 17 in New York City, and Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville before wrapping-up at Lewiston, New York’s Artpark on May 24. Jesse Ahern will provide support, while the headliner will vary every other night of the trek.

“Looking forward to getting out with the Dropkick Murphys again for the second edition of our ‘Boston to Berkeley’ tour in May,” Rancid’s Lars Frederiksen said in a statement. “This is one you won’t wanna miss.”

This is the first time the pair is touring together since their co-headlining tour in 2017, dubbed “From Boston To Berkeley.” The pair have a long history together, since Frederiksen first came across a copy of Dropkick Murphy’s original EP at a friends house and then reached out to his bandmate, who passed it on to Hellcat Records’ president Tim Armstrong, who added the band to his new label.

Dropkick Murphys last released 11 Short Stories of Pain and Glory in 2017. The LP featured “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and and “Blood.” Similarly, Rancid released Trouble Maker in 2017, which is known for “Ghost of a Chance” and “Bovver Rock and Roll.”
