The end is in sight for legendary country duo Brooks & Dunn, who today announced dates and cities for their 2010 Last Rodeo Tour. The 47-city farewell tour will launch April 23 in Sacramento, CA, and conclude August 8 in Chicago.

The trek, which will last just over 15 weeks, kicks into high gear with an April 25 set at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival at Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA. From there, the itinerary also includes stops on May 14 in St. Paul, MN; May 29 in Dallas, TX; June 19 in Washington, DC; July 15 in Atlanta, GA; and July 30 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Except for a few previously announced special engagements, most venues on the tour are yet to be named. Updates on the tour routing and onsale details, which will vary from one market to another, will be released as they become available through the official Brooks & Dunn Web site.

“The Last Rodeo Tour is going to be a ‘must see’ for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the amazing energy that Kix [Brooks] and Ronnie [Dunn] create on stage,” said Brian O’Connell, Live Nation’s president of Nashville Touring, in a statement released today.

O’Connell continued, “I look forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves on a nightly basis, and I am confident that they will leave everything they have on the stage one final time in each city.”

This past summer, Brooks & Dunn announced their decision to part ways after two decades performing and recording together. The pair’s career together began in 1990 and spanned 11 studio albums, 20 number one singles, and dozens of industry awards.

“This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed…. We owe it all to you, the fans,” the musicians said in a joint statement in August, adding, “If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just time.”

Before mounting their 2010 tour plans, Brooks & Dunn will perform a trio of weekend shows in Las Vegas this weekend, December 4-5. All three nights at the Hilton Theater sold out with tickets priced from $95 to $165, plus applicable fees.
