It will be a triple-bill assault when legendary rock bands Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick head out together this summer on a 49-date, 48-city major amphitheater tour. Hitting the concert trail July 9 in Denver, CO at Fidderl’s Green, the tour concludes Oct. 4 in Albuquerque, NM at Journal Pavilion. Cheap Trick will open all shows.

Journey — Neal Schon (guitar), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass),
Deen Castronovo (drums) and new lead singer Arnel Pineda — will be promoting “Revelation,” the highly anticipated 3-disc CD/DVD package set for release June 3 exclusively at Wal-Mart stores in North America. The first disc features 11 re-recorded classics, the second is filled with 11 new songs, and the third is a live, in-concert DVD. “Revelation” was produced by Kevin Shirley, who previously worked with Journey on their Platinum-certified “Trial by Fire” album.

Heart rose to fame in the early 1970s as sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson spun out their mix of hits, influenced by hard rock and folk music. They have sold more than 30 million albums, with more than 20 Top 40 hits, including “Baracuda,” “What About Love?,” “Never,” “These Dreams” and “Nothin’ at All.”

Cheap Trick has been blending elements of pop, punk and even metal for more than 30 years and have logged more than 5,000 performances, sold 20 million records, penned 20 movie soundtracks and received 40 gold and platinum records. They can be heard every night on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report with the show’s theme song, which they wrote and performed. Their timeless classics include “I Want You to Want Me,” “Surrender” and “The Flame.” The band released the album “Rockford” on their own imprint in June 2006.
