Barry Diller, who resigned as chairman of Live Nation in late September, has sold 2.5 million shares of the company’s stock to Liberty Media Corp., which is headed up by his rival John Malone. According to Bloomberg Businessweek, the exact date of the sale, and the price for the shares, has not yet been disclosed. As of about 2:20 p.m. EDT today, November 5, the stock, which trades under the symbol LYV, was selling for about $9.68 per share. The sale represented virtually all of Diller’s stake in the company, which totaled a little over 1 percent. Liberty Media owned nearly 15 percent of Live Nation prior to this purchase.
