UPDATE – Monday, January 31, 10:00 a.m. (EST):
After public onsales opened on Friday, January 28, Dispatch made the decision to cancel its June 17 performance in Harrison, NJ, due to “not enough demand.” Refunds will be issued for tickets purchased during presales and onsales. The itinerary below reflects this change.

ORIGINAL REPORT:
Seven concerts (including one new city) have been added to Dispatch’s summer 2011 reunion tour.

The move comes as the result of “overwhelming demand” during fan presales, according to a January 25 release. Presale allotments sold out for five shows, prompting the addition of more concerts in anticipation of this Friday’s public onsales (January 28).

Two more nights were added to the tour’s opening and closing cities, putting Dispatch center stage from June 3-5 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, and June 24-26 at TD Garden in Boston, MA. Additional gigs have also been added in Chicago, IL, and Harrison, NJ.

In addition to fresh nights in Chicago and Harrison, a new market was also added to the tour’s original six-city routing. The newly confirmed show Los Angeles is set for June 12 at the Greek Theatre, complementing the previously scheduled June 11 gig about 400 miles north at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA.

Presale numbers have been announced for one stop on the tour — the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This week’s press released put the presale figures for that venue alone at “almost 20,000 tickets.” Red Rocks has an advertised seating capacity of 9,450.

In response to the quick presale sell-outs and new concert dates, Dispatch added to its previous negative campaign against the secondary market in an effort to stamp out resales, even through legitimate marketplaces and lawful resellers.

On their official Web site, the members of Dispatch wrote, “A final reminder to steer clear of the secondary ticketing market! More great seats will be hitting Ticketmaster…so please do not support people trying to charge above face value.”

At the time the tour was first announced, the band released a lengthier statement against ticket resale. The primary complaint in that message was the listing of tickets on secondary exchanges prior to the start of onsales.
