Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is leaving his bandmates behind for a month this summer as he completes a solo tour of the United States. The eight-city outing launches June 8 at Palace Theatre in Albany, NY, and wraps July 1-2 at Hawaii Theatre Center in Honolulu, HI.

In addition to the final concerts of the tour, a couple venues will host multiple performances by the singer-songwriter. His confirmed two-night stands are booked for June 11-12 at Tower Theatre in Philadelphia, PA, and June 14-15 at Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, MD.

This is the second solo tour for Vedder, who completed two brief tour legs in 2008, performing songs from his soundtrack for the 2007 film “Into the Wild.” The outing began with a six-city run down the West Coast in April, followed by an eight-city tour of the East Coast in August.

New Zealand-based musician Liam Finn will accompany Vedder as a supporting act. Finn previously toured with Vedder in August 2008.

In order to be eligible for the tour’s ticket pre-sale, an individual had to be “an active, participating member” of the official fan cub, Ten Club, by April 7. The membership cut-off had already passed by the time Vedder issued his April 8 tour announcement. Members can begin placing ticket requests on April 10, with requests limited to a single pair of tickets for one date of the tour.

A number of unconfirmed “rollover” dates have been set aside for June 9 in Albany, June 21 in Memphis and June 24 in Atlanta. Fans have the opportunity to reserve tickets on one of these dates, though performances are not guaranteed and depend on market demand.

In addition, tickets purchased through the club will be available through Will Call only on the night of the given performance. Only the original purchaser will be allowed to pick up the tickets, which are non-transferrable.

According to the official Pearl Jam Web site, the pre-sale precautions have been set up to “better address everyone’s needs.” The site also notes, “Tickets are being held in unspecified locations throughout the venues.”
