Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival enters TicketNews’s Weekly Top Events rankings for the first time this week, coming in at number three (2.81). The festival hosted by the guitar legend trails only behind Wicked (4.52) and Jimmy Buffett (4.34). Jay-Z gained big ground this time around, moving from his previously held number fourteen position to number four (2.58). Bon Jovi stays at number five (2.23), while Michael Bublé slips to number six (2.03; he was number two in the last rankings). The Black Eyed Peas (seven, 1.84) pull ahead of Taylor Swift (eight, 1.69) and George Strait & Reba McEntire (nine, 1.65). Rounding out the overall top ten is John Mayer with a 1.60 power score.

The WWE takes the top spot in the Top Sports Events rankings with a 3.00 power score, beating out the New York Knicks (two, 2.78), the Boston Red Sox (three, 2.65), and the Los Angeles Lakers (four, 2.07). The Chicago Cubs break into the sport’s top ten with a 1.99 power score. The Denver Nuggets (six, 1.94) beat the Cleveland Cavaliers (eight, 1.87) on the court and in these rankings. The New York Yankees are number seven (1.90) and Mexico soccer is number ten (1.60).

Jimmy Buffett (8.99) outranks Clapton’s Crossroads Festival (5.82) in the Top Concert Event rankings; Jay-Z is number three (5.34). Those artists in the overall rankings also make the concert top ten, with Elton John coming in at number ten (3.08).

The Top Theater Events show “Wicked” in number one (29.85), followed by Lion King (two, 9.90) and Jersey Boys (three, 9.42). Phantom of the Opera (5.48) pushes Billy Elliot (5.36) out of the number four spot. Chicago – The Musical enters the rankings at number seven (2.35). And in number ten, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family (ten, 1.86).

TFL and ATBS for ticketing professionals

The top three Broadway shows are “Wicked” (30.70), “Jersey Boys” (12.81), and “Billy Elliot” (8.19). A View from the Bridge is number five (4.90). Also in Broadway top ten: A Little Night Music (seven, 3.15), Mamma Mia! (eight, 2.73), and La Boheme (nine, 2.24). Closing out the Broadway top ten is Mary Poppins with a 1.98 power score.

Cher leads the Vegas rankings with a 57.71 power score. Barry Manilow makes a jump from number five in the last rankings to number two (14.97) in these. Blue Man Group stays at number three (5.66), and Cirque du Soleil – KÀ is back in the rankings at number four (3.77). Criss Angel: Believe is number five (2.98). Jay Leno was number four in the last rankings and is number six in these; Le Rêve is number seven (2.58). Cirque du Soleil – The Beatles: Love slips to number eight (2.29) from number two. In numbers nine and ten: Rita Rudner (2.28) and the Fab Four Live (1.11).
