On the heels of its 2007 Black Box Tour, the Foo Fighters are returning to the road this month with several dates in the U.S. and Europe. The tour will include mostly East Coast dates in the U.S. and one Los Angeles performance, and will support the band’s newest album, “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace,” which is set to be released on Sept. 25.

The band will appear at The Fillmore in New York and the House of Blues in L.A., and the tour follows the group’s recent performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. At the VMAs, the group was accompanied by System of the Down’s Serj Tankian and Troy Van Leewen of Queens of the Stone Age.

The Foo Fighters are also scheduled for a U.K. tour in November, which will be a 9 show run that will culminate on Nov 18th at London’s O2 arena. . .

Recently, the band has been criticized for using their concerts as a venue for preaching their views on HIV, according to published reports. The band believes that HIV is not the cause of AIDS and that the medicines used to treat the disease are actually the cause of it. Foo Fighters bassist Nate Mendel organized a sold out concert in Hollywood in which fans were given the book “What if everything you Thought you knew about AIDS was wrong.”
