Building on what has been a successful implementation of a ticket scalper zone, officials in Ashwaubenon, WI, the adjacent community to Green Bay, recently moved to incorporate one of its roads next to famed Lambeau Field as an authorized area to resell Green Bay Packers tickets.

Last year, in a move to combat incidents of fans erroneously buying counterfeit tickets, Green Bay set up a ticket scalper zone next to the stadium that requires brokers to pay $800 annually to register for the privilege of reselling tickets.

Wolfgang's Vault - Get SkinnedThe zone was composed of two separate streets in different towns next to the stadium, but now the area will be considered one large zone with both streets having the same rules. See the video below.

“The benefit is you know who you’re buying from,” Ashwaubenon Public Safety Director Eric Dunning told WLUK-TV Fox 11. Brokers who want to resell tickets within the zone also have to submit to background checks before they are approved.

Despite the team playing in one of the smallest communities in the U.S. to host a major professional sports franchise, the Green Bay Packers are a huge ticket draw on the secondary market.
