Hurricane Irma is said to be one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes ever, and it’s fast approaching the state of Florida and the southeastern United States. Taking extreme precaution in preparation for the storm, a slew of sports games, concerts, and other events have already been moved up, postponed, relocated, or cancelled.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were set to play the Dolphins in Miami this Sunday, but the NFL has already announced its postponement. Both teams share the same bye week in week 11, and will play instead on November 19 in Miami.

In college football, University of Central Florida and Florida International were both set to host their season openers this Saturday night. UCF moved its matchup against Memphis up to Friday at 6:30 PM. Florida International is taking a bit more precaution; their opener versus Alcorn State has been cancelled for now, with more details about rescheduling to come.
