With three months to go until the festival crowds begin to fill Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA, an official lineup has been announced for the three-day Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The 2010 event, taking place April 16-18, will feature headline performances by Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz. Those acts lead a billing of more than 130 recording acts that will canvas five main stages.

Ever since festival dates were confirmed in December, all three headline acts were heavily speculated for the lineup, with Muse driving the most hype on the rumor mill. Many other acts on the schedule are also making the transition from “speculated” to “confirmed,” including hot up-and-comers The xx and Phoenix, as well as veteran favorites Thom Yorke, Devo and Faith No More.

But perhaps one of the biggest confirmations on the list is Pavement, the ’90s lo-fi band that confirmed a long-rumored reunion in September 2009. Following that initial announcement, a slate of international reunion concerts was unveiled slowly, including four sold-out September 2010 shows in New York, NY.

With most of the planned performances based overseas, Pavement’s U.S. fanbase was still holding out for a domestic festival performance to anchor the highly anticipated tour. Pavement guitarist Scott Kannberg fueled speculation about a Coachella tie-in when he told Rolling Stone that the band was in talks with several festivals at the time, including the California-based festival.

Public ticket sales for Coachella 2010 will begin January 22. As with last year’s event, the festival is offering a couple of layaway options that allows attendees to make payments toward their order over a period of time to defray the up-front cost of tickets.
