Jay-Z has been confirmed as the replacement act for Beastie Boys on the opening night of the All Points West Music & Arts Festival to be held July 31 through August 2 at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ. Also performing on July 31 are Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend and The National, among others.

The headliner on August 1 is Tool with My Bloody Valentine, Gogol Bodello, Arctic Monkeys, Neko Case, the Ting Tings and many others also scheduled to perform. Coldplay headlines on August 2 with support from Echo & the Bunnymen, MBMT, the Black Keys, Elbow and many others.

The date also marks Jay-Z’s U.S. festival debut. Last year, he performed at European festivals, including the UK’s Glastonbury, Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, Norway’s Hove Festival and the O2 Wireless Festival in London.

Beastie Boys were forced to cancel their summer tour, which included several headline dates at U.S. festivals, as Adam “MCA” Yauch undergoes treatment for throat cancer. Refunds are available at the point of purchase, where applicable, for fans who do not want to see the on-going shows due to the rock-rap group’s cancellation.
