Hot on the heels of a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden on January 29, Southern rock royalty Kings of Leon will return to the U.S. circuit this year for an arena tour. The 18-city jaunt kicks off April 19 at Agganis Arena in Boston, MA, and closes out with a May 21 concert at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA.

The trek runs from coast-to-coast, though most currently announced dates are slated for the East Coast. Highlights include an April 24 concert at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA, a May 2 appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans, LA, a May 7 show at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, FL, and a May 13 performance at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheater in Cleveland, OH.

A single show is schedule for Canada on April 21 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON. Public onsales for the spring outing begin on February 13.

The upcoming Kings of Leon tour leg continues to promote the band’s fourth studio album “Only by the Night.” The September 2008 release debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, driven by the hit single “Sex on Fire,” which claimed the top slot on the modern rock charts.

Kings of Leon launched their North American tour last fall with more than 20 performances across the country. The band’s 2008/2009 touring season also included immensely popular international runs, and a brief January run of the U.S. that culminated with the blow-out at Madison Square Garden.
