R. Kelly is set for a nine-week, 38-city “Double Up” arena tour that kicks off on Nov. 14 in Columbus, GA with opening acts Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo and J. Holiday. The tour winds down Jan. 13 in Hampton, VA and marks the first tour in more than a year by the multi-platinum R&B singer, whose most recent CD, “Double Up,” debuted in the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Top 200” chart.
“I haven’t done an arena tour in a while, and it will be a great opportunity to give my fans a memorable show where I’m pulling out all the stops,” Kelly said in a statement.
The four-hour extravaganza is possibly one of the biggest, history-making R&B tours in recent years. The massive effort of promoting this arena tour, with an average seating of 15,000, will include more than 150 production personnel, 12 production vehicles, four set changes, and more than 10 tour buses.
