There’s good news for audiences hoping to spend “An Evening with Sting” this summer. The acclaimed British musician and former Police frontman has tripled the length of his planned North American jaunt in June and July.

Originally booked for just five nights in the U.S. and Canada, the tour has been extended to 15 engagements, all of which will be backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Opening night is still June 2 at the Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver, BC, but concerts are now booked through July 30 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY.

New additions to the itinerary include a June 4-5 stand at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, OR; a June 18 event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV; and a July 24 performance at the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC.

Public onsales begin on March 8 for three of the five initial tour dates. Additional onsales for Sting’s newest concert dates begin later on March 15. Full ticketing details for the tour are available on the singer-songwriter’s official Web site.

Conducted by Steve Mercurio, the 45-piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will perform along with a more traditional backing quartet with a guitarist, bassist, percussionist and vocalist. Together, Sting and the tour’s accompanying musicians will play rearranged versions of hits from his solo career and time with The Police, such as “Roxanne,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Fields of Gold” and “Desert Rose.”
