After a successful inaugural run in winter 2009, the Jagermeister Country Music Tour is returning for a second run of the U.S., to begin early next month. Eric Church is headlining this year’s outing with support from country music newcomer Josh Thompson.
The dedicated country music tour already has more than 30 performances scheduled for the winter trek, beginning February 9 at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD. While the tour routing falls a little short of the West Coast, most other regions of the U.S. will be hit on the outing, which wraps March 27 at Boulder Theatre in Boulder, CO.
Other highlights of the tour include performances on February 10 at the Fillmore in New York, NY; February 16 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC; March 4 at Midland Theater in Kansas City, MO; March 17 at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, WI; and March 25 at State Theatre in Minneapolis, MN.
Since 2002, the Jagermeister brand has worked to establish itself as a sponsor of semiannual rock and metal tours. Last year, the company announced that it was testing new waters with country musicians Pat Green and Randy Houser. The success of that outing led to a second country music tour for Jagermeister and Sidney Frank Importing Company, Inc.
Church’s sophomore album, “Carolina,” peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 after its release in March 2009. However, Thompson is still awaiting the release of his studio debut, “Way Out Here,” which is set to arrive on February 23.
