Singer-songwriter powerhouses James Taylor and Carole King have expanded their plans for the 2010 Troubadour Reunion Tour.

After the duo completes its previously announced spring trek through the Asia-Pacific region, the tour will return to North America for a 25-date summer run. Taylor and King kick off their national outing on May 7 at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, OR.

The bulk of the tour is booked through June 19, when the music legends will take the stage at TD Garden in Boston, MA. But Taylor and King will stay in the Boston area for a couple more weeks in order to perform a special Independence Day stand on July 3-4 at Tanglewood‘s Koussevitzky Music Shed in Lenox, MA.

Other highlights for the six-week venture include performances on May 13-15 at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA; May 24 at Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL; May 28 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON; and June 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.

The first public ticket sales for the tour begin on January 23. Onsales for the pair’s two-night stand at Tanglewood start early next month on February 7. The July 4 concert will be followed by fireworks; all proceeds from that night’s engagement will benefit Tanglewood.

Taylor and King first played together during a 1970 concert at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA. While this tour commemorates the 40th anniversary of that performance, the two iconic artists actually reunited in 2007 during a 50th anniversary show for the Troubadour venue.
