With a handful of U.S. concert dates already lined up, Paul McCartney now has plans to bring his 2010 Up and Coming Tour back home. The world famous musician has announced a five-date jaunt across the UK and Ireland to begin on June 12 at RDS Stadium in Dublin, IRE, and conclude June 27 at the Hard Rock Calling festival in London, ENG.

“It’s always brilliant to play for the home crowd and these dates are ones that me and the band are really excited about,” McCartney said in a statement on his official Web site.

Tickets to his June 13 performance at the Isle of Wight Festival are already on sale to the general public, while festival tickets for Hard Rock Calling pick up on March 5. Presales for the tour’s opening Dublin date began today, March 3, and public ticket sales kick off on March 8 for the gigs in Glasgow and Cardiff. McCartney’s site has complete details on ticketing and availability.

Sir Paul’s five June appearances are his first in Ireland and the UK since completing the Good Evening Europe Tour at the end of 2009. That venture comprised eight concert dates across mainland Europe and the British Isles, ending with a December 20 show at The O2 in Dublin and a December 22 event at The O2 in London.

Macca concluded his 2009 itinerary in front of home audiences, but much like the upcoming concert season, he started that year’s itinerary with a round of blow-out Summer Live ’09 Tour performances across the U.S. and Canada.

This year, the Up and Coming Tour launches March 28 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ, and closes its run of the U.S. and its territories with an April 5 gig at José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, PR.

Sales for McCartney’s spring concerts have already made their mark on the U.S. ticket market. The renowned musician snagged a second place debut on TicketNews’ exclusive event rankings for the week ending February 28, finishing just behind summer tour king Dave Matthews Band. Both McCartney and DMB have concerts scheduled for the Hollywood Bowl, which also dominated other national venues in ticket sales during the week ending February 28.
