Two contemporary singer-songwriters from opposite sides of the Atlantic will team this summer for a co-headlining tour of the United States.

Ray LaMontagne and David Gray have confirmed 17 dates for their outing, which launches August 15 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. The late summer routing will keep the folk-rockers on the road together for almost four weeks before they conclude their time together on September 10 at Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA.

A two-night stand is scheduled for August 17-18 at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA. The itinerary also includes concerts on August 22 at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN; August 30 at red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO; and September 5 at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, CA.

The majority of the tour’s resale and public onsale dates have not yet been announced. Listings on Ticketmaster.com reveal onsales for just one show — a September 4 engagement at the Open Sky Theater in Valley Center, CA, where ticket sales open to the general public on May 1. Ticket prices for that event range from $45 to $125, according to the listing.

Gray’s official Web site is also hosting a presales for the August 29 tour stop at Harrah’s in Council Bluffs, IA. The special presale begins April 4 with options for general admission seating and standing only room priced at $55 and $40, respectively.

Gray is in the middle of his own spring tour of the United States, which wraps April 15 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL. That current venture, as well as the upcoming stint with LaMontagne, supports his September 2009 release and eighth studio album “Draw the Line.”

LaMontagne toured in fall 2009, but is off the road at the moment. His third and most recent studio album, “Gossip in the Grain,” dropped in October 2008 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
