Arcade Fire has unveiled a new slate of concert dates that will bring the chart-topping indie band back to North America this fall. The new national circuit is sandwiched between two European jaunts and will take the popular indie band to markets missed on their recently completed summer trek.
The group’s latest tour leg launches September 22 at The Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, MN, and includes a variety of U.S., Canadian, and Mexican cities. In all, the indie crew will hit a dozen markets during the course of the three-week trip, which wraps October 12 at Auditorio Banamex in Monterrey, MEX.
Arcade Fire’s itinerary also includes gigs on September 28 at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC; October 7-8 at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA; and October 10 at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, MEX. Calexico is set to join the Canadian leg of the tour as a special guest.
Public ticket sales begin over the August 20-22 weekend, except the already sold-out show in Big Sur, which was billed as an intimate “Evening With” performance and ticketed separately from the rest of the tour. Show-specific ticketing details are available on Arcade Fire’s official Web site.
In the states, ticket prices vary from just under $40 to almost $50, depending on the venue, while each Canadian market starts its ticket prices at CA$30.50 and tops out at CA$46, according to Ticketmaster.com‘s current listings.
Arcade Fire is touring behind the August 3 release of its third full-length effort, “The Suburbs.” First-week sales for the album, particularly digital downloads, were enough to give the band its first-ever No. 1 title on the Billboard 200. (Their 2007 album “Neon Bible” came close with a No. 2 debut before sliding down the charts.)
During its recent late-summer tour of North America, Arcade Fire played eight East Coast dates in the United States — including a two-nighter with special guest Spoon at Madison Square Garden in New York City — and five additional shows in Canada.
At the moment, the band is off the road and prepping for its back-to-back appearances at England’s famed summer duo, the Leeds and Reading Festivals. Arcade Fire hits the Leeds stage on August 27 and heads over to Reading on August 28.
