Red Hot Chili Peppers were forced to postpone their North American tour earlier this month due to an injury. But when the band does return to the road in March, it will be with a newly extended calendar of concerts.
Interspersed among the 23 rescheduled concerts of the I’m With You Tour are 16 entirely new dates for the Northeast and Central regions of the United States and Canada.
RHCP’s new batch of dates picks up April 27 at Air Canada Center in Toronto, ON, and runs through June 7 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, KY. Included are stops on May 7 at TD Garden in Boston, MA; May 25 at Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO; and June 2 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH.
Tickets for these new tour dates go on sale to the public January 27. More information is available on RHCP’s official Web site.
The North American leg of the I’m With You Tour had been scheduled to launch today, January 20.
The band was forced to reschedule the outing earlier this month as frontman Anthony Kiedis recovers from foot surgery. According to a January 11 band statement, the musician “recently underwent surgery to remove a crushed sesamoid bone and correct a detached flexor tendon in his foot and is expected to make a full recovery.”
U.S. tour dates now begin March 29 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, FL. All previously booked dates have been rescheduled through October 25 in North Little Rock, AR, and the band’s Web site lists 16 of the dates as being sold out.
