Mariah Carey is reportedly having trouble selling out shows at her Las Vegas Residency, “The Butterfly Returns,” causing Ticketmaster to rope off unused seats.

According to RadarOnline, the Colosseum in Las Vegas has roped off 1,200 seats that are not being used, pointing to low ticket sales. As of last week, there were 1,233 seats still available for a show on August 31, and 1,284 tickets remaining for her final show on September 10. However, fans argue that Vegas shows don’t usually sell-out until the day-before or day-of the show.

This wouldn’t be the first time Carey’s tour wasn’t selling well; earlier this year, it was reported by the New York Post that her residency sales were a “disaster” and scalpers who bought tickets were “freaking out.” Additionally, she cancelled shows late last year on her “All I Want For Christmas Is You” tour in Canada and New York City, citing a respiratory infection.

Earlier this month, Carey announced that she was cancelling her upcoming tour dates in Australia and New Zealand for the second time. The tour, which was originally set to take place in February 2018, was pushed off to October. However, the singer cancelled again due to a “scheduling conflict.” She promises to find new dates soon, noting that she’s working on new music.

Amid the Australian cancellation and low ticket sales, Carey has added more dates to the residency, extending into 2019. Although the trek was supposed to wrap up in September, she will play five additional shows next February at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Her new album is reportedly due soon and will follow her 2014 LP Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.

“Some of the record is lighthearted and fun, and some [songs] I really went deep in terms of the lyrical content,” Carey said of the record. “There’s a nice cross-section of things.”
