Officials of the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee have announced a new concert venue dubbed the Thunder Valley Amphitheater, presented by Ballad Health. The project will be added to the Bristol Dragway, a drag racing unit in the city with a capacity of 30,000, according to the dragway’s website.
The first concert will be on Saturday, July 27. Country Music Hall of Fame group Alabama will perform at this opening event. The two-time Grammy Award-winning band will play several number one hits like “Mountain Music and “Dixieland Delight” as a part of their ongoing 50th anniversary tour. Country music singer John Michael Montgomery will open the show.
Concerts at the Thunder Valley Amphitheatre will join the other entertainment options offered this year at Bristol Dragway. Thunder Valley will host the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals on Father’s Day weekend, as well as Bristol Chevy Show, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Thunder Valley Mayhem, weekly Street Fights, and DER Bracket Racing Series throughout 2019. The NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals, among other events, are also slated to take place at the venue.
The Alabama concert will go on sale through the Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway ticket office or online. Tickets will be available on Wednesday.
