Rapper Cardi B was scheduled to perform in upstate New York over the weekend, but Live Nation announced that the show will be rescheduled until September.
In a press release, the promoter announced that “due to circumstances beyond her control, Cardi B will not be appearing” at the SPAC, nor the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse the night before. She will instead appear at the SPAC on September 6, followed by the show in Syracuse on September 7. Tickets will be honored at the new date and do not need to be exchanged, but refunds will be available at point of purchase.
Cardi has not commented on the cancellation, and there is no further information on the “circumstances beyond her control.”
The shows in upstate New York were dubbed as Femme It Forward in honor to women in hip-hop, set to features special guests Teyana Taylor, City Girls, and Nicole Bus as support. However, Cardi has more gig appearances this year; she is slated to stop in El Paso, Texas next on May 21, followed by shows in cities like Mansfield, East Rutherford, and Los Angeles before heading overseas for a handful of festivals throughout the summer.
Over the past year, Cardi has quickly risen to fame, garnering attention with her debut Invasion of Privacy. The LP features hit singles “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Best Life.” Earlier this year, she dropped the collab “Please Me” with Bruno Mars, who she was supposed to go on tour with in 2018, but had to back out after giving birth to her first child. Fans are expecting a full U.S. tour soon.
