The UK-based festival booking platform Festicket has acquired UK’s ticketing and point-of-sale platform Event Genius, as well as its consumer-facing brand Ticket Arena.

Event Genius, which provides event solution to event organizers with online ticket sales, POS Software, ticket scanning, seat reservations, and marketing, has powered major events like Motion Bristol, Annie Mac’s Lost & Found Festival, and Summer Daze. Festicket, on the other hand, helps fans book trips around the world with its network of over 2,000 festival organizers and nearly 6,000 accommodation and travel suppliers. The partnership, which has been dubbed Event Genius by Festicket, will combine the companies’ expertise to provide a platform for both organizers and fans.

“In Event Genius, we have found a company that shares our mission to be a disruptive force in the live entertainment market and — ultimately — to bring the best possible experiences to fans,” Festicket co-founder Zack Sabban said in a statement.

Festicket has been actively working to expand their global reach; earlier this year, Festicket teamed up with Coachella to target festivalgoers in Europe and the UK who want to attend the festival that has an “unparalleled reputation worldwide as the ultimate festival appearance.” The music festival platform also announced late last year that it was working to bring their operations to North America with a new president to take over U.S. affairs.

Event Genius’ founder Reshad Hossenally, who will join Festicket as the chief supply chain officer, explained that the company  always strives to “bring event organisers and consumers a better experience, regardless of the size or type of event,” and with Festicket’s global network, Event Genius now has “something truly unique for the events industry.”

Further terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Event Genius’ 20+ staff in Leeds will join Festicket, which is also headquartered in the UK.
