The rockers of Aerosmith will pay homage to their hometown with a concert at the legendary Fenway Park this September amid their 50th anniversary.
Amid their residency shows, the band will be able to have a proper anniversary concert with a special one-off show in Boston on Friday, September 18. They’ll be joined by the rock group Extreme, who are set to open the show. Many fans are wondering if drummer Joey Kramer will be performing at the gig, since he wasn’t seen onstage alongside Aerosmith at the MusiCares benefit gala nor the Grammy Awards after a Massachusetts judge ruled against his bid to be reinstated with the band again.
The group was recently honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year for their philanthropic efforts and history in the music scene with a show at the Los Angeles Convention Center, featuring performances from Alice Cooper, the Foo Fighters, Gary Clark Jr., and more. Aerosmith also announced an extension of their Dueces Are Wild Las Vegas residency through June 2020.
Music From Another Dimension!, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers’ last studio album, dropped in 2012 and followed 2004’s Honkin’ on Bobo. The group first formed in Boston in 1970 and are bringing back their nickname as “the Bad Boys from Boston.”
