With KoRn currently on hold, frontman Jonathan Davis has his first solo album scheduled for a late November release and has assembled a group of backing musicians for a 24-date club tour this fall from November 9 to December 11.

For the album, Davis is experimenting with a variety of instruments including the didgeridoo, a wind instrument used by the indigenous Australians of northern Australia; glass harmonica; the duduk, an Armenian wind instrument; and biwa, a Japanese lute, which sounds like a banjo.

“I want to include that in my album because it’s so passionate,” Davis explained to Rolling Stone magazine. “Like when you hear a KoRn song and it’s really going crazy, these guys do it with a stringy banjo. I want to bring that to kids here…and open their minds up to something different.”

Davis, who recently performed on Ozzfest’s main stage, is back working on his album. He went out on his first solo tour in late 2007 after KoRn wrapped up its own roadwork.

As for KoRn, Davis said, “When I’m done with this, I’ll go to my other gig, but right now, I’m having fun. I’m not planning that far ahead. This is where I’m at, and I’m really enjoying it.”
