Rising star Missy Higgins will bring her latest tour to the States this winter. The Australian singer-songwriter’s 24-city jaunt will pick up February 19 at the House of Blues in Houston, TX, and wrap March 23 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA.
Along the way, the musician will stop for a February 27 set at The Loft in Atlanta, GA, a March 2 concert at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, a March 7 performance at the new House of Blues venue in Boston, MA, a March 13 gig at Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL, and a March 20 show at Rialto Theatre in Tucson, AZ.
Singer-songwriter Justin Nozuka is scheduled to accompany Higgins on nearly 20 nights of the trek. The 20-year-old musician released his debut effort “Holly” in 2007, and was nominated as New Artist of the Year for the 2008 Juno Awards in his native Canada. According to Nozuka’s official MySpace page, up-and-coming songstress Lenka will also appear on the tour as a special guest.
Higgins is continuing to support her second studio album, “On a Clear Night,” in April 2007. She previously completed U.S. outings in 2008 with Brett Dennen, as well as with the Indigo Girls and Ben Folds to promote the release in the States. The album gained recognition for the musician in the U.S., propelling her onto Billboard‘s Top Heatseekers chart to No. 7.
