Country superstars Brooks & Dunn have outlined plans for a winter tour of North America before launching some international dates later in 2009. The duo will hit the road starting with February 2 show at Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino in Indio, CA, and wrap the jaunt on March 14 at Sudbury Arena in Sudbury, ON.
More than 10 shows have been confirmed so far, including a February 16 concert at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX, and a February 22 performance at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA. The jaunt ends with four shows in the Canadian province of Ontario, a run that spans from March 11 at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston through the March 14 set in Sudbury.
Spring 2009 will see singer-songwriters Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn pick up their instruments for a new round of shows, as the partners head to Australia for a four-city outing. After performing Down Under, the country veterans will return to the U.S. for a couple confirmed summer appearances.
Brooks & Dunn are still supporting their tenth studio album, “Cowboy Town,” which was released in October 2007. The record peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200, but climbed to No. 4 on the country album charts.
The record’s second single, “God Must Be Busy,” had a strong showing early in 2008, placing at No. 78 on the Hot 100. The track recently earned Brooks & Dunn a Grammy nomination for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group. The 51st Grammy Awards will take place February 8 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.
Brooks & Dunn toured over the summer with southern rock kings ZZ Top. The two iconic groups were on the road together from an August 1 kick-off concert in Albuquerque, NM, through three mid-October shows that had previously been postponed due an illness.
