TicketNews has released its exclusive events rankings for the week ending Sunday, April 3, and this week, Wicked once again claimed the title of number one, power scoring a 3.32. The award-winning musical seems to have regained some of its strength on the secondary market, now topping the list for four weeks straight.

Despite the continued success of “Wicked”, musical artists took over the majority of this week’s top ten, with Taylor Swift coming in at two (2.31), Lil Wayne at three (2.27) and Bob Seger taking number four (2.13). Next in the rankings was Kenny Chesney (five, 1.84), and Celine Dion’s newly opened Vegas show finished the week at six (1.81). Eddie Vedder’s solo tour, scheduled to begin on June 15, debuted this week at seven (1.79), followed by the second Broadway production in the top ten, The Book of Mormon (eight, 1.77). Lady Gaga stayed strong at number nine (1.59), and Sade’s concerts with John Legend broke into the rankings at number ten (1.53) this week.

From the look of this week’s Top Sports rankings, it’s clear that baseball season is well underway. Half of the top ten was claimed by MLB teams this week, starting with the New York Yankees in the number one spot (5.01). The Boston Red Sox were the next team to make the list, finishing the week at three (3.58), with the Colorado Rockies in at six (2.79), the Minnesota Twins at seven (2.61) and the Texas Rangers at ten (2.56). The New York Knicks were the only NBA team to make the top ten (four, 3.14), though the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was big this week, with the Final Four All Sessions Strip hitting at number five (2.83). The well-attended WWE tour performed well this week, moving up to number two (4.49), and Monster Energy Supercross also sold strong, in at number nine (2.58).

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork ExchangeTM, the world’s largest secondary market exchange. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. Since the sum of all events’ power scores equals 100 in any given category, an individual event’s Power Score represents its category-specific significance. Top Seller Power Scores should only be used to compare sellers within a particular category, and not across categories.
