Jazz musician Steve Tyrell will bring his renditions of Burt Bacharach’s oeuvre to a number of venues throughout the U.S. in support of his upcoming album “Back To Bacharach” set for release on June 24. The tour, which includes one nighters and week-long stays starts May 16 in Red bank, NJ and concludes Oct. 31 in Westhampton Beach, NY.

“This album is different from any I’ll ever do,” Tyrell said in a statement. In the last decade, Tyrell has been at the forefront of a renaissance in recordings from the Great American Songbook via his previous six projects.

“The music of my friends Burt and Hal has been a lifelong collaboration. Their songs are my songs. It’s a very unique situation. I’d like to say “Back to Bacharach” was 40 years in the making. There is no other music like this in my life. And I am honored to share it with the world…my way.”

Tyrell’s previous six albums have earned him a number of accolades: his first album, “A New Standard,” had a three-month run on the Billboard Jazz charts and “Standard Time,” “This Time Of The Year” and “Songs Of Sinatra” all made the Top 5. “The Disney Standards,” his last album, which was released in 2006, achieved Top 10 status on the Billboard Jazz charts.
