Tickets for upcoming concert dates from Sting as well as tickets to Hugh Jackman’s upcoming Broadway show are on sale throughout the weekend ending September 26, as compiled by TicketNews.
This weekend’s onsales begin with tickets to upcoming concerts from Guns N’ Roses. Having sold over 100 million albums worldwide, Guns N’ Roses has reportedly been working on a new album. Tickets to their upcoming shows in Connecticut and South Carolina are on sale today, while tickets to their upcoming Dallas concert are on sale Saturday.
Also among today’s onsales are tickets to an upcoming stop on the Watch the Throne concert tour, featuring Kanye West and Jay-Z. The tour, which is named after the collaborative album from both West and Jay-Z that was released last month and that entered the Billboard charts at number one, will feature performances from both multi-platinum artists. The tour is rapidly becoming one of the fall’s hottest tickets.
Continuing with this weekend’s concert onsales are tickets to upcoming shows from Sting. A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sting is one of the most popular recording artists of the past 30 years, both as a solo artist and as a member of the hit 1980’s band The Police. Upcoming Sting concerts, which go on sale Monday, include shows in San Francisco, Detroit, Denver, and Houston.
Finally, tickets go on sale Monday for Hugh Jackman’s upcoming series of “Back on Broadway” concerts. The concerts, which will include the Tony award-winning star of both stage and screen singing his favorite songs and talking about his varied career, will run from October 25, 2011 through January 1, 2012. Judging from Jackman’s past Broadway appearances, which resulted in sold out runs and skyrocketing ticket prices on secondary ticketing sites, it is expected that tickets for this limited engagement will be just as popular.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
