Tickets to the upcoming summer tour from this season’s cast of American Idol are among the onsales for the weekend ending May 14 as compiled by TicketNews®.
Lauded by critics as one of the most talent-filled seasons of American Idol in recent history, 40 tour dates of the live tour go on sale May 11. Among the stops on sale are dates in Newark, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Providence, RI; Orlando, FL; Chicago, IL; San Diego, CA; Nashville, TN; and Toronto, ON.
Continuing the onsales are tickets to Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away Tour. The Season 4 American Idol champion will be hitting the road this summer in promotion of her recently released fourth album “Blown Away.” The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200, and tickets to the international legs of her tour have sold exceptionally well, with her London stop selling out in 90 minutes. Stops on sale this weekend include shows in Louisville, KY; Charlotte, NC; Oklahoma City, OK; Calgary, AB; and Vancouver, BC.
Hip hop artist Nicki Minaj also has several upcoming concert dates among the weekend onsales. Minaj will be taking her Pink Friday tour on the road this summer, with concerts throughout North America. Concerts on sale May 12, 2012 include dates in Houston, TX; Vancouver, BC; St. Louis, MO; and Seattle, WA.
Rockers Rush have additional concert dates on sale this weekend for the final leg of the group’s Clockwork Angels Tour. Stops on sale include Winnipeg, MB; Edmonton, AB; and Saskatoon, SK. Indie rockers Florence and the Machine have several upcoming concert dates on sale May 11. Among the dates on sale are shows in Tampa, FL; Raleigh, NC; and Camden, NJ. Finally, tickets are on sale for several stops on the Monster Energy AMA Supercross tour. Upcoming events in Minneapolis, MN; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; and St. Louis, MO are among the dates on sale.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
