Alternative-rock group Cute Is What We Aim For has just announced a fall 2018 tour with rising bands Makeout, Minshara, and Brightside.

The trek is set to kick-off this November in Berwyn, Illinois, and will make stops in cities like Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Columbus, Brooklyn, and Syracuse. The 14-date run will only hit most of the East Coast, and will wrap-up in Toronto, Ontario on November 25.

While Cute Is What We Aim For has made appearances in the music scene over the years, they haven’t released an album since 2008’s Rotation. In 2010, the group lost all of its members aside from frontman Shaant Hacikyan. Since then, Hacikyan has continued to release music under the band’s name, including a cover of the song “Dead and Gone” by T.I. and Justin Timberlake in 2010, as well as two EPs.

Then, in 2012, the band announced they were making an official comeback with Jeff Czum on guitar and Tom Falcone on drums, but the group broke up for a second time in 2014 after appearing on Vans Warped Tour. Hacikyan reconnected with members again in 2016 for a 10-year reunion tour of The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch, and opened for We The Kings on their own anniversary trek.

Cute is What We Aim For are best-known for 2006 singles “The Curse of Curves,” “There’s a Class for This,” and “Newport Living,” along with 2008’s “Practice Makes Perfect” and “Navigate Me.”

“By the time we start this run, it will have been 18 months since Cute performed live,” Hacikyan said in a press release. “I’m just excited to get back out there and put on a great show for the fans. We’re hoping to play all the classics and give everyone a little taste of some of the new stuff we’ve been working on.

“We have a great lineup for this tour and we’re purposely doing smaller, intimate rooms so the energy should be awesome‎! I’ve always loved touring with the next generation of bands coming up. Makeout seem to be the new kids on the block and I’m glad we’ll get a chance to make some memories and share the stage with them.”

Up-and-coming acts Makeout, Minshara, and Brightside will join them on all dates. Makeout, who just appeared on the final Vans Warped Tour, has been scoring hearts of pop-punk fans across the country with their smash single “Crazy” off of their debut LP The Good Life. Additionally, Minshara and Brightside have new music to offer; Minshare dropped the EP Overnights and Brightside released Heart Science last year.

“We’re especially stoked to watch Cute Is What We Aim For every night,” Makeout’s frontman Sam Boxold said. “It’s literally mind-blowing getting to hit the road and share the stage with people I looked up to when I was getting my start in music.”
