Indie-rock band Tame Impala has announced a brief U.S. stint following their headlining performances at this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
It was announced earlier this month that the band would perform at Coachella on April 13 and 20, taking the stage alongside acts like Ariana Grande and Childish Gambino. Shortly after, Tame Impala will head to Nashville for a gig on May 2, followed by shows in Asheville and St. Augustine, as well as a performance at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Music Festival, before wrapping-up in Miami Beach, Florida.
They’re also slated to perform at a handful of festivals this summer including Corona Capital Festival in Guadalajara, Mexico and Primavera Festival in Spain. Additionally, it was just revealed last week that the group will headline Boston Calling Music Festival on Saturday, May 25.
Tame Impala’s last album, Currents, was released in 2015 and features smash-hit tracks “The Less I Know The Better,” “Let It Happen,” and “New Person, Same Old Mistakes.” Frontman Kevin Parker is reportedly working on new music and said that he would be “very disappointed” if a new album wasn’t released by summer.
“I love playing Currents songs, I love playing Lonerism songs, but I think I’m ready to play some other songs live,” he told Beats 1 host Matt Wilkinson.
