Music icon and Grammy Award-winning artist Janet Jackson announced a headlining Las Vegas residency at Park Theater at Park MGM that will run through summer 2019.
“Metamorphosis” will kick-off on May 17. From there, she’ll play five more shows throughout May, four in June, and five in August, wrapping-up on August 10. The show will feature a special 30-year anniversary celebration of her ground-breaking record Rhythm Nation 1814, which is known for “Miss You Much,” “Come Back To The World,” and “Love Will Never Do (Without You).”
“Metamorphosis peels back the layers of the immensely private life of Janet Jackson, sharing her transformation from a young girl with issues of self-esteem to global icon,” a press release states, noting that Jackson will be the centerpiece of the show, capturing fans with “electrifying visuals, explosive dance numbers, chart-topping hits and fan favorite deep cuts.”
Jackson encourages her audience to “find their own light within themselves through her Metamorphosis.”
Throughout her career, which has spanned for more than 40 years, Jackson has garnered global attention, winning six Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, Academy Award, and dozens of American Music, MTV Video Music, and Billboard Music Awards. While she is best-known for albums throughout the ’80s and ’90s like her self-titled, Dream Street, and Control, she also excels as a dancer, author, philanthropist, and businesswoman. She is one of the top-selling artists of all time and will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year.
Jackson recently wrapped-up her State of the World Tour in support of her eleventh studio record Unbreakable. The tour, which was originally supposed to begin in 2016, was pushed back due to Jackson’s pregnancy. Late last year, she released the single “Made For Now” with Daddy Yankee.
