Willie Nelson announced earlier this week that he would have to cancel his remaining tour dates due to a sudden breathing issue. However, he is now feeling better and will resume the trek in September.
“I have a breathing problem that I need to have my doctor check out,” the 86-year-old wrote on Twitter Wednesday night, noting that he will have to call-off his upcoming gigs with Alison Krauss, Outlaw Music Festival shows, and a Farm Aid appearance. Then, his team updated fans last night that the trek is not entirely cancelled.
“Willie is resting and feeling better,” the post said. “The tour will resume on September 6 in Gilford, NH. Thanks to all the fans for the continued support!”
Nelson was supposed to kick-off his tour this weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan with Alison Krauss. Now, he’ll resume performances on September 6 at Gilford’s Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, followed by a string of Outlaw Music Festival concerts and an appearance in East Troy, Wisconsin for Farm Aid. Shows in Grand Rapids, Huntington, Florence, Charlottesville, Greenville, and Greensboro have been cancelled.
Later this fall, Nelson is also slated to appear at a new Las Vegas residency, dubbed Vegas On My Mind. Shows are set for this October at the Venetian Theater.
