Summary by Michael Mainelli, TicketNews Staff

Kenny Chesney has just announced that he will not be touring in 2014, making this only the second time in over 13 years the country star has not set out on an annual country wide summer tour. “I love touring more than anything in the world,” says Kenny, adding “We have so much fun out there…with the fans, the other bands…It’s summer camp with guitars and a great sound system.” This June was a major milestone in his career as he sold his millionth concert ticket. Although this announcement may temporarily disappoint fans, hearing him again will certainly be worth the wait. He plans to use his time off to work on a new album, the follow up to Life on a Rock, and wants to make it his best album yet. For his 13th album he plans to take his time and really focus on the what he is trying to say through his new songs, rather than simply cutting songs because they fit what people expect. However, its not to late to still catch a show this summer. There are 8 concerts left on his “No Shoes Nation” tour and he will be stopping in cities such as Atlanta, Georgia, on August 3, Detroit, Michigan on August 17, and then conclude in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with two shows at Gillette Stadium on August 23 and 24. Tickets are still available for all his remaining shows!
