This week’s top events rankings saw a newcomer debut in the middle of the pack. Kevin Hart’s comedy tour along with the exposure from MTV’s recent announcement that he will be hosting the VMAs has landed him the number 14 spot on the Top Events Rankings List.

Hart is a comedian who has segued into an acting career starting back in 2001. His film and television credits include Think Like a Man, The Five-Year Engagement, and a guest starring role on the popular comedy sitcom Modern Family. In addition he has guest hosted the E! talk show Chelsea Lately.

MTV has picked some notable comedians in the past to host the Video Music Awards, including Chris Rock, Chelsea Handler, and Arsenio Hall, so Kevin has some big shoes to fill this year. His “Laugh at My Pain” tour started early on this summer and is set to continue through the end of December. . He will be traveling all over the country, from the North East to Florida, to California.

Country superstar Carrie Underwood is also back on the TicketNews®’ Events Rankings this week, due to her upcoming Blown Away tour. This tour will take place all over the US, as well as several locations in Canada. Her “Blown Away” album was released in May and debuted at number one. This made Underwood the second female to have every album released at number one.

Other notable jumps in position include Bruce Springsteen who has entered the top 3 in the No. 2 position this week along with Barbra Streisand in the third spot.

Last week, Bruce Springsteen put on a spectacular show at Gillette Stadium. This weekend Springsteen will be playing two shows in Canada, and is scheduled to return to the United States next Wednesday for a show in Vernon, NY.

Despite The Lion King falling from the number 3 spot to number 19, this is still a very popular event. Last week, it became the 5th longest running show on Broadway.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. Since the sum of all events’ power scores equals 100 in any given category, an individual event’s Power Score represents its category-specific significance. Top Event Power Scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category, and not across categories.
