“Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” is a musical that acts out the story of the original Dr. Seuss book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” The musical debuted in Minneapolis in November, 1994 and performed again in 1995 and 1998, selling out shows each time. Production expanded to San Diego in 1998 at the Old Globe Theatre, and has run annual Christmas season shows ever since. It then expanded even further to Broadway for holiday season shows in 2006 and 2007 and went on a US tour from November 2008 to January 2009. For the winter season of 2009 – 2010, the musical will have its productions in Hollywood, California at the Pantages Theatre.

There must have been a great deal of joy in the hearts of every child attending "Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas" this past week, as the show returned to the Broadway stage despite the ongoing stagehands strike. It grossed $1,004,228 in ticket sales, with almost 69% attendance, to finish in second place for the week.
“Grinch” to Open on Broadway Despite Strike
A New York judge has decided not to steal the Grinch from its fans over the holidays. The popular family show, ”Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical”, will re-open this Friday, Nov. 23, for a new spate of performances, following a ruling today by New York Supreme Court Judge Helen E. Freedman.

Although there had been hope that "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical" might reopen at Broadway's St. James Theatre prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, that will not be the case, according to Playbill.
The Grinch Returns To Broadway
Word from Playbill is the Grinch will return to Broadway this holiday season, this year planting himself and his little dog Max at the St. James Theatre beginning November 1st. The Grinch is on a limited engagement through January 6, 2008. Tickets are sure to go fast.
