Born on January 17, 1971, Robert James Ritchie, better known by his stage name Kid Rock, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter who became famous in 1998 with his first hit record “Devil Without a Cause”. This album sold 11 million copies and encompassed hit singles “Bawitdaba,” “Cowboy,” and “Only God Knows Why.” He then released the album “The History of Rock” in 2000 with the hit single “American Bad Ass,” followed by the album “Cocky” in 2001 with hit single “Picture” featuring Sheryl Crow. He has sold 22 million albums to date in the U.S., which currently ranks him as the 99th best selling music artist of all time in the United States.
Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd went on their Rock and Rebels Tour from June 26, 2009 to August 2, 2009. Kid Rock, backed by his 11-piece Twister Brown Trucker Band supported his hit record, “Rock N Roll Jesus,” which topped the Billboard 200 following its release in October of 2007. The band suffered the loss of their longtime keyboardist Billy Powell in early 2009, who died at the age of 56. The group recently signed a new record deal and will produce a new album in late 2009.

Kid Rock will get a little help from a friend on the upcoming leg of his Born Free Tour. Nearly 30 dates have been lined up for summer headline tour with Sheryl Crow on the bill a special guest.
The country-infused rockers will set out together July 2 at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, OH. Their U.S. itinerary closes two months later with a September 3 event at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, TX.

The 27-city itinerary then winds through the Midwest and South before wrapping March 12 event at FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN.

Veteran punk act Green Day is closing its summer-long North American tour over the weekend. The venture, which launched July 3 at KeyArena in Seattle, completes its nation circuit tonight, August 25, at The Forum in Inglewood, CA, southwest of Los Angeles. Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd tour launches second summer of 'Rock and Rebels'
Two generations of Southern rock will unite this summer as Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd reprise last year's Rock and Rebels Tour. The trek picks up June 26 at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL, and is currently booked through August 2 at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY.
The first leg of the summer 2009 jaunt is set to hit 20 cities, primarily on the East Coast. Along the way, the duo will stop for a July 1 concert at Superpages.com Center in Dallas, TX, a July 11 performance at Verizon Wireless Music Center in Nobelsbille, IN, a July 29 gig at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA, and an August 1 show at Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, VA. More concerts are expected to be added in the future.
Kid Rock added to BamaJam Music & Arts Festival lineup
Kid Rock is among the new artists added to the lineup of the second annual BamaJam Music & Arts Festival from June 4-6 at a 450-acre entertertainment center in Enterprise, AL. More than 30 artists will perform on two stages: the main country stage and alternative stage.
A limited number of Early Bird tickets is now available with the three-day general admission ticket priced at only $139.50 (a $40 discount). There is also an Easy-Pay Plan where the ticket buyer’s credit card will be charged in four equal amounts (plus handling fees and tax).
