Yes

English progressive rock band Yes has enjoyed a 40-year career and critical acclaim for its blend of classical music structures in its music. The band formed in the late 1960s, and though the lineup has varied over the years, primary members are Jon Anderson (vocals), Chris Squire (bass), Steve Howe (guitar) and Alan White (percussion).

The band had planned the Close to the Edge and Back Tour in summer 2008 to celebrate its 40th anniversary, but plans were scrapped when Anderson was diagnosed with acute respiratory failure and ordered to rest for at least six months. At the end of the year, the band reformed without Anderson, option to tour with Yes tribute band singer Benoit David instead.

The decision irritated Anderson, who claimed he had not been informed of the decision nor visited by his band mates during his convalescence, as well as fans, who felt that the band had no right to tour under the "Yes" name without its iconic singer. However, the tour fared well enough to inspire a 2009 summer tour -- still featuring David on vocals -- with fellow prog-rock band, Asia, for which Howe also plays guitar.

MLB attendance: Yes, it's down a bit but certainly not out

By Rick Roso

As everyone knows, when it comes to statistics there’s more than one way to skin a cat. Last week the Associated Press declared that "Over the opening two weeks of the season, Major League Baseball’s average attendance was 30,298 for its first 183 games, a 6.9 percent drop from last year's final figure of 32,539."

But other baseball industry watchers point out that determining true attendance pace requires accounting for how many games each team has played; obviously, each team’s schedule is different from last year. And the AP comparison was to last year’s "final figure" – a bogus analysis since attendance shoots up during the summer months.

Highlights of the run are a July 2 concert at Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, CA, a July 12 performance at Paramount Theatre in Denver, CO, and a July 29 show at Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ.

Founding member Chris Squire, who underwent leg surgery on February 11, has been advised by his doctor that he needs a one month rest period, which knocks the band off the road.
