R&B star R. Kelly appears determined to remind fans that in the U.S. people are innocent until proven guilty.
The multi-million CD-selling recording artist, who’s Trapped in the Closet series of videos have become a cult hit, is so confident his upcoming child-pornography trial will turn out in his favor that he is apparently prepping for a tour beginning in October. His trial is slated to begin in September.
According to MTV News, fellow R&B singer Keyshia Cole let the news slip during an interview earlier this week that the two are headed out on the road together.
Neither Cole nor Kelly’s camps have confirmed when exactly in October such a tour would begin, but as MTV points out, the timing is unusual for a number of reasons.
Kelly’s trial starts September 17, and while it’s expected to run for four weeks, it could run even longer because of the unpredictable length of jury deliberations.
