The Harlem Globetrotters have appointed Peter LaPointe, a 14-year veteran of the National Football League, as the team’s new senior vice president, Sponsorship Sales.

“Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team,” said Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider in a statement. “He will help tremendously in our efforts to build upon the Globetrotters’ unrivaled brand heritage and push us into new and complementary revenue streams. We are extremely pleased and lucky to have him on board.”

LaPointe has spent the past eight years working on the development of the NFL’s international business, where he was the senior director of Global Sponsorship, overseeing the business development and corporate partnership activities for the NFL’s international offices in Toronto, Mexico City, London, Tokyo, and China. . .

He also oversaw consumer products and fan development activities during his time in the international division. He joined NFLI as senior director of Fan and Commercial Development in 1998, following five years with NFL Properties as director of Children’s Apparel for the Consumer Products Division.
