Ten TenorsBy Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner

Australia’s The Ten Tenors will return to North America this fall. The group’s Here’s to the Heroes world tour brings them to 65 cities across the United States and Canada, beginning Sept. 23, in Ft. Smith, AR and concluding with a triple header Dec. 27-30 in Pittsburgh, PA.

These North American dates are the latest installment to The Tenors world tour in support of their current CD release, “Here’s To The Heroes.” The album, released in North America by Rhino Records, has reached Gold and Platinum status in several countries around the world and has held top 10 chart positions in many more, including the U.S.

The Ten Tenors have now been seen by over 90 million people on four continents, appealing to opera, pop and rock audiences, and have appeared as headliners and alongside such diverse artists as Rod Stewart, Andrea Boccelli, Alanis Morissette, Willie Nelson, and Christina Aguilera, to name a few. . .

“Our performances pay tribute to some of the great classics of all time, whether that be the pop sounds of the Bee Gees with ‘Stayin Alive’ to the rock sound of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ and Luciano Pavarotti’s version of ‘Nessun Dorma,'” Shannon Brown, one of the Ten Tenors and show musical director, said in a statement.

Their 2002 CD, “One Is Not Enough,” reached the Top 10 on the European pop charts, and they were invited by Disney to record the theme song “Jungle Rhythm” for the film “Jungle Book 2” (2003). They have been awarded Best Artist Pop Meets Classics Award by the Radio Hamburg Awards and received The Variety Group of the Year Award at the 29th Annual Australian Entertainment MO Awards.
